A house patent of Makaibari, our Silver Green tea is a visual delight of pale green leaves interwoven with silver streaks – a unique green tea that is plucked on the steep Makaibari hills all year round.
Our Silver Green Tea is one of the most sought-after teas harvested from our Makaibari Tea Estate. Hand-picked from special bushes, Silver Green Tea is made only from young unopened buds and tender leaves. Minimal processing by our master tea maker results in an excellent tea with a delicate floral bouquet and notes of vanilla and honey. Green tea is prepared by steaming harvested leaves to prevent fermentation.
The steaming process allows the tea to preserve its green colour during the rolling and drying processes. These processes preserve natural polyphenols, found in abundance in green tea, which are believed to reduce oxidative stress and boost immunity.
