Summers mean sweaty situations and melting makeup products & skincare products. Keeping your face filmed with some nutrition and lots of hydration becomes a task of a soldier in this season. Not just that, the shining sun results in tanned and uneven skin tone, causes acne, pigmentation and worsens the existing skin conditions. To combat ‘em all, we bring you some amazing DIY facial toner recipes that you can use to prep your skin, to fight back and stay healthy.

#1 Pore tightening toner

Do you have enlarged and visible pores that you just cannot begin to like or come close to concealing, this rice water face toner is all you need to tighten and brighten your skin while helping it stay strong and protected.

What you’ll need?

Spray bottle, ½ cup white rice, a bowl and water.

Directions: Wash the rice thoroughly and make sure all the dirt is washed off. Soak the rice in water and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Then strain the rice and save the holy water in a spray water bottle.

You should keep the water in the fridge for an even cooling effect and use it as a toner twice a day. Use the toner for only up to 4 days at maximum and remake.

#2 Matcha anti-acne face toner

Dark spots, acne and acne scars are some of the most common skin concerns, especially in this hot season and Matcha is a great corrector for all these issues. This matcha toner will lighten the marks and also kill the acne-causing bacteria whilst reducing any chances of breakouts.

What you’ll need?

Distilled rose water, 2 teaspoons of organic matcha green tea powder, 2 drops of tea tree oil and a spray bottle.

Directions: Mix the matcha green tea powder with distilled rose water until the mixture is lump-free and watery. Add the essential oil and mix well. Store it in a spray bottle and use it anytime you need a dose of freshness and protection.

#3 Brightening face toner

Correct and optimum cleansing is a hard nut to crack for everyone and with free radicals affecting your skin indoors as well as outdoors, proper care has become a necessity. This tomato toner is what you need to cleanse your skin and get rid of all the damage the pollution has caused. It’s the burst of Vitamin C your face has been longing for.

What you’ll need?

½ cup tomato juice, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, rose water or plain water and a spray bottle.

Directions: Mix tomato juice, lemon juice and a tablespoon of water. Make sure you do not have any seeds or pulp from the tomato. Store the toner in a spray bottle and apply twice a day, preferably in the morning and before bedtime.

#4 Coconut milk toner for glowing skin

Coconut is well-known as a wondrous skin transforming ingredient. This amazing coconut skin toner is light on the skin but heavy on the imperfections. It brightens and nourishes the skin, fights the sun damage, and leaves it glowing and clear.

What you’ll need?

1/3rd cup of coconut milk, 1 tablespoon raw honey, a pinch of turmeric and a cup of distilled water.

Directions: Add honey and turmeric powder to 1/3rd cup of coconut milk. Stir it well. Now dilute the mixture with distilled water and store it in a spray bottle.

Store the toner in a refrigerator and use it only up to a week. You can use this toner as a cleanser, before makeup to prime and/or as a setting spray.
