The Disposal Company helps subsidize the ethical recovery and safe disposal of plastic waste which would otherwise end up in landfills, burned or be flushed into our oceans. It is India’s First Plastic Credit Platform dedicated to reducing waste, reviving lives, and restoring our planet’s balance. With their help, we’re aiming to make Vanity Wagon Plastic Neutral and hopefully soon after, a Plastic Negative company.

What is Plastic Neutrality?

Plastic Neutrality means funding the recovery, i.e, collection, segregation and recycling of plastic waste equivalent to your plastic consumption.

For every gram of plastic consumed/purchased, 1 gram of the same type of plastic waste is recovered from the municipal waste before it reaches the landfills, the plastic is then recycled by government vetted projects. 

We are elated that our plastic neutral approach will have multifaceted impact.

1. How did you become Plastic Neutral?
We have received the seal of Sustainability™ certification from The Disposal Company which is the gold Standard for plastic neutral brands. They have measured our plastic footprint for the year, and we have funded plastic recovery and management for the equivalent amount. That made us offset our plastic usage through credits and finally, Plastic Neutral! 

2. What is implied by plastic credits?
We bought plastic credits equivalent to our plastic usage. Generally, One plastic credit is equal to one kg of plastic recycled. When you offset your entire plastic usage, plastic credits help you become Plastic Neutral. 

3. Plastic Neutral equals Plastic free?
No. Plastic free implies that a company doesn’t not use any plastic in any of its business operations. In our case, being plastic neutral means that for every gram of plastic we use, we facilitate the removal of a gram of plastic pollution — giving every purchase of our products a net-zero plastic footprint. 

4. What is the difference between plastic and carbon footprint?
Carbon footprint is the amount of greenhouse gases your lifestyle emits into the atmosphere whereas Plastic footprint is the amount of plastic your lifestyle demands.
