Pre-Bridal Tips Before The Wedding

Can you hear the wedding bells ringing? Right after the joyous season of festivities, comes the Indian edition of the wedding season! Even though weddings happen all year round, this season of chills and ice is everything nice for Indians to tie the knot. While the hassle and prep of both these events in question are very similar, in weddings we make sure to go a notch above, because why not? Well, the wedding season has officially kicked in as you can see your neighborhood all glammed up with lights and your letter box filled with wedding cards.

Weddings call for being on top of your A-game throughout, which means the bride especially, should start taking care of herself at least 30 days prior to the wedding. After all, there is a reason there are so many “pre-bridal tips” from all the nanis and dadis of the house. Self-care is the key and any nasty is a big NO, be it in your care or comments from your neighborhood aunty. That is why team Vanity Wagon is here to give you all the right pre-bridal tips before the wedding and mind you, we’re going all the way clean this season with a regime that boosts your innate natural glow.

Pre-Bridal Tips Before The Wedding

Before we start lathering you with some clean products that are a must for the bride-to-be, we want to share and reiterate some quick tips which you probably might already know but are too lazy to act upon.

1. Balanced Diet

There are a lot of functions that a bride-to-be is a part of, starting from the poojas to haldi, mehndi, and whatnot. A bride-to-be’s well-being should be the first priority. And that starts with eating right! Your first step to getting a clean routine for this season should be to start clearing yourself from within. Food must be enjoyed but it should also provide your body with essential nutrients and vitamins. Make yourself a diet chart or consult a dietician to gain maximum benefits from altering your diet. A clean gut would represent clean skin & healthier you, which completes half of our goal for the wedding season. The best diet for brides before marriage should include the following things:

  • Staying hydrated: why not attach a ‘bride-to-be’ sticker on your sipper for that extra motivation?
  • Have a plate full of colors: it is not advised to avoid carbs and fats altogether. A little bit of everything in a balanced amount, proteins, carbs, fibre, healthy fats, and vitamins, is a must.
  • Fruits for the win!
  • Almonds, Tomatoes, Strawberry, Beetroot, and Pomegranates are the five foods that are sure to make your skin glow from within.
2. Sweat Your Way to Glow Up

Sweating is your new bestie because the more you sweat the better you glow up. Exercising is essential in keeping yourself fit mentally and physically. Physical fitness only means to engage and work your own body goals that align with your lifestyle and requirements. It could mean getting abs or just enough to release endorphins and get you that happy high. You do you!

3. Exfoliate

It is essential but often ignored like those fruit mix corners in a wedding buffet. Exfoliation is a great way to get rid of your dead cells and ensure better absorption of skincare products. You should keep doing it at least once a week even after the wedding shenanigans are done and dusted. Everyone, the bride, groom, bridesmaid, the bride’s mother, basically everyone on Earth should exfoliate! It helps improve blood circulation while giving way for faster & clearer cell generation. A good exfoliate aligns with your skin type and improves the texture of your skin.

4. Ditch the nasties and adopt a clean skincare regime

Elaborate skincare is not the answer no matter how many “10 steps” blogs you read. Your skincare should be minimal and ensure cleansing, toning, and moisturizing of your skin. Using skincare products mindfully can help prevent damage to your skin’s natural barrier. It is important to remember that our skin is designed to resolve damage and maintain its natural equilibrium. Skincare is just used to give a slight boost, or a catalyst as one must say. Essentially, rather than doing all the home remedial DIYs and damaging your skin barrier and causing it to breakout just two days before the wedding, all the brides should keep doing the basic steps according to their skin type:

  • Cleanse with face wash
  • Treat with serums & eye creams
  • Hydrate with moisturizers
  • Protect with SPF and
  • Exfoliate once in a while.

Also, incorporating wellness products two-three months before the wedding like vitamin supplements, gummies can help give you better and healthier skin, hair, and gut.

5. Get 7 hours of sleep

Nobody likes puffy eyes unless you’re binge-watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Sleep regulates the functioning of your body which reflects directly on your skin,(and your under eyes). It also regulates your mood which ensures whether or not you’ll be enjoying the wedding to its fullest or sitting in a corner trying to get a wink.

This season is all about making new connections and families. So the one thing that matters at the end of the day is whether or not you’re enjoying the extravagant wedding food and dancing till your feet hurt. So while all you bride-to-be’s are busy taking care of yourself, do not forget to have a little extra fun with your friends and family!
