Mature Skin? Here’s how you can combat it.

mature skin

Mature skin is not just dependent on age but also the lifestyle that one follows. With the days and months passing, the synthesis of collagen slows down and that added with the external environment, imbalanced and unhealthy diet, lack of sleep, stress, and exposure to sun leads to mature skin.

Now, how to know whether or not you have mature skin? If your skin has been showing two or more signs stated below, then it is time you modify your skincare regime and take care of the maturing skin to cease the case from worsening any further. Some of the signs that will hint that you have mature skin are:

  • Dry and dehydrated texture
  • Lack of luminosity
  • Saggy skin/Loss of elasticity
  • Deep wrinkles and fine lines
  • Open and large pores
  • Hyper pigmentation
  • Dark patches or spots

Witnessing more than two of them on your skin? Though it is ideal to start taking care of your skin as soon as you cross 18, it is never too late. The simple skincare routine and products listed below can definitely help you get back the radiance in just a few weeks.

1.Hydrate your skin like it’s a thirsty crow

The first thing mature skin needs is activated hydration with a wholesome dose of nutrients and antioxidants to lock in the moisture. Invest in a good moisturizer with anti-ageing properties and use it twice daily without fail. Moisturizing the skin is great for smoothening out the wrinkles and adding a dewy glow to it. We recommend The Nature’s co. saffron radiance face cream.

2.Protect it from sun damage

Make sure you wear SPF before stepping out in the sun as your skin is terrified of the UV radiations it emits. Mature skin is majorly a result of sun exposure. Protect your sensitive and already ageing skin from direct sun exposure and take care of it. Apply and reapply sunblock every 3-4 hours for optimum protection. One of our favorite sunblocks for mature skin is Bhumih Ayurveda’s Tarini sun protection beauty oil.

3.Exfoliate every third day

Physically exfoliating your skin is extremely important to make sure that the dead skin cells surfacing on the skin are buffed away and the healthy cells are hydrated. The dead skin cells also stop the hydrating serums and moisturizers from seeping in and nourishing the skin. Using a gentle exfoliator twice a week is a great way to treat mature skin and we are in love with Ilana Organics’ energizing shell scrub.

4.Invest in a serum/facial oil

Nothing can match the power of serum or anti-ageing facial oils. These two holy grail products treat mature skin very efficiently. Serums and facial oils regenerate the skin cells and boost the collagen production apart from reinstalling the firmness. They also work great when it comes to adding luminosity to the skin. We recommend you try Just Herbs Kimsukadi Tail.
