Fragrant and very mildly pungent, lemongrass is a cooling herb that pairs well with food and drinks. Known to keep the sniffles away, a warm lemongrass brew contains Vitamin C and has a soothing effect on the senses.

HOW TO USE

For a hot brew: Add 1 teaspoon per cup (150ml). Always pour hot water (80°C) on the flowers and not the other way around. Steep for 2-3 minutes. For a cocktail: Infuse (1 tsp per cup (240ml) of alcohol) in any clear alcohol - gin/vodka/ white rum/ tequila for half an hour.

 Lemongrass leaves have aromatic oils, and inhaling or consuming them can have a calming effect on the nervous system. A lemongrass infusion is also an ideal detox drink as it aids metabolism. Apart from brewing, these leaves can also be used to flavour food.
